Layton is a strong, combative midfielder who is equally adept at defending as he is in the attacking phase. Layton trains as he plays, with everything he has and drives the team forward at every opportunity. Lewis has also joined the Club on loan from Gateshead FC where he is on a one-year professional contract. Lewis, who came through the Gateshead Academy made his senior debut at Alfreton Town and Captained the U19’s to silverware winning the National League U19 Alliance Division 1 and securing the League Cup double later that season.
